Ron's work in photography began six decades ago in Boston when, at the age of eight, his Dad taught him the basics of shooting Black & White photographs and printing them in the darkroom. During his high school years he developed his skills and earned a modest income providing darkroom work for a local daily newspaper, also photographing families and high school sports teams.
Most recently he converted entirely to digital tools and marvels that he can create archival prints in his home studio, without darkroom or chemicals. Over the last several years he has regularly upgraded his equipment to the Fine Art Professional level which he now uses.
I have taken my art from film and the darkroom to digital imaging and find that the medium brings me broad creative opportunities. Some of my works mirror reality as seen by the camera and others show my experimentation. My Black & White and Color images range from simple to complex, subtle tones to hard contrast, and tack sharp to soft focus. My subject interests are broad and reflect my creative curiosity. To create lasting works of art that represent my vision is my intent.
